On **Log GF Items** you will find a **Scan Receipt** button. Tap it, take a photo of your receipt (or choose one from your library), and after a few seconds the gluten-free items appear in the form with names, prices, and quantities already filled in. ## What scanning fills in - The gluten-free items it spots on the receipt, with the price you paid - A suggested price for the closest conventional equivalent, so your comparison is pre-filled - The store name and purchase date, when they are readable - The receipt photo itself, attached to your entry just like a manual upload ## Always review before saving The receipt is read by an AI model. It does well on clear photos, and it still makes mistakes, so check each row before you save. Every field stays editable: fix a name, correct a price, remove a row, or add an item it missed. The suggested comparison price is an estimate; if you know the real shelf price of the regular version, type it in and your number replaces the estimate. Items that are not gluten-free (your bananas, your milk) are left off on purpose, since Gluten Hero tracks your gluten-free purchases. The message after a scan tells you how many lines were skipped. ## Scan limits Each account can scan up to 50 receipts a day and 200 a month. Occasionally scanning takes a break for the rest of the day; when that happens, or if a scan fails for any reason, adding items by hand works exactly as it always has. ## Tips for a good scan - Lay the receipt flat in good light and get the whole receipt in frame - Long receipt? Scan the clearest photo and add any missed items by hand - A clear close-up beats a wide shot
